Since becoming interested in learning more about hurricanes, I have been able to find quite a bit of information about these devastating storms and the effect they have had on the United States.  My interest began after the catastrophic events that took place in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.  Knowing there would be overwhelming amounts of facts and statistics out there, I began searching countless hurricane records and concentrated on areas that appealed directly to me.  Since there was so much information available, my main focus became the storms from the last couple of decades.  I want to use what I have learned to reach out to those affected by hurricanes in the future.
