Well this is exactly what Gray Cook learned when doing university research on jump training.Gray Cook created the functional movement screen (FMS) and just so happened to do his university research on vertical jump training. In speaking with him on the phone here is what I learned: The most important thing is perfecting your technique in order to maximize your vertical jump. Gray used light resistance bands to make sure his subjects jumped properly. If you jumped with bad form the bands would magnify this so you had to jump correctly.
