As a kid, we spent so many of our summers in the mountains of the local Cascades. Virtually every summer we would go as a family and stay in one of the lodge hotels for several weeks hiking and exploring nature by day and sitting around an outdoor fire by night and then snuggling into a warm bed exhausted at the end of every fun-filled day. I though all kids grew up with these kinds of adventures. But, now I know that most kids don’t grow up with these type of adventures, but they should. So get out there and get into the outdoors. If you can go to any of the lodge hotels, then go camping, but take your kids outside into nature.
