The Mezquita of Cordoba or the Cordoba mosque is a structure in Cordova, Spain that was originally built be a Roman Catholic Cathedral, The Christian Visigothic church of St. Vincent in 600 AD. Later a Muslim bought the church and converted it into a mosque named Aljama Mosque, in honor of his wife in 784 AD. The mosque has been expanded upon and renovated so much that it is hard to tell exactly how much of the original building still stands. The building itself boast an impressive 1,000 plus jasper, onyx, marble and granite columns and giant arches which were made from the original building.
