What is still an almost undiscovered treasure chest of unspoilt beaches, incredible mountain ranges, and the most amazing carpet of wild flowers in spring, has become a major holiday route out of Cape Town along Route 27.  Salt of the earth residents make the area from Ganzekraal to Strandfontein their home, snoek, mussels and crayfish are a way of life for them and it became mine too when I rented a vehicle from cape town car rental to explore Route 27.  Known as a seafood central with a number of open-air beach restaurants offering unbeatable seafood fresh from the sea.
